Fees and Funding

There are a range of different funding options available to enable your child to access OT sessions.

Private Health Insurance:

Rebates are claimable for most health funds. The amount refunded will be dependent on your level of cover. We recommended that you speak with your insurer to find out your rebate.

Medicare:

There are two types of funding that Kick Start Occupational Therapy has access to under Medicare. It is recommended that you contact Medicare directly to discuss the amount rebated, as it will only partially cover session costs.

  • Enhanced Primary Care Plan – this is funding signed off on by a GP for a child with a diagnosis. It involves a total of 5 allied health sessions in a calendar year.
  • Helping Children with Autism – this funding is provided by your paediatrician and is only for children with a diagnosis of ASD.

FaHCSIA/Better Start Funding:

Kick Start Occupational Therapy is a panel approved service for both FaHCSIA and Better Start funding. This funding is for children who have a diagnosis of ASD, or Cerebral Palsy, vision/hearing impairment, Fragile X and Down Syndrome. The child must be under the age of 7 and meet a range of other eligibility criteria as assessed by an advisor. If you think your child may be eligible please contact the following relevant body, as you will be unable to access this funding with our service until you have been through this process.
